Memberships & History

A member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, NJCAA Esports, NJCAA Region II,  and the Oklahoma College Athletic Conference (Oklahoma-Arkansas), Carl Albert State College will field all DII teams starting in the fall 2020: Baseball, Softball, Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, and Esports. NJCAA Men's Wrestling and Women's Wrestling only have one division.

NJCAA Region II

CASC Board of Regents voted unanimously April 20, 2021 to add Competitive Co-Ed Cheer (F2021, NCA) & emerging (F2022, NJCAA).

CASC Board of Regents voted unanimously March 9, 2021 to add NJCAA Men's (F2021) & emerging Women's Wrestling (F2022).

CASC added DI Men's & DI Women's Cross Country in Fall 2017.

CASC also fielded teams in DI Men's & DI Women's Basketball until Fall 2016.

CASC also fielded Rodeo teams from 1987-1993 and were coached by Frank Steano.

Carl Albert Junior College became Carl Albert State College in 1990.

The CAJC Trojan mascot created in 1962 was changed to the CASC Viking mascot in 1991.

NJCAA ESPORTS

In spring 2020 CASC became a member of NJCAA ESPORTS, the first Oklahoma community college to field teams, and has joined 43 two-year colleges in the NJCAA ESPORTS inaugural academic year; NJCAA ESPORTS has expanded t 64 two-year colleges in 2020-2021. NJCAA ESPORTS is the national governing body for two-year college esports in the United States, is proud to provide two-year college esports teams with governance, competition, and official national championships. The governing body also provides guidance and positive development for two-year colleges to build and operate esports programs. In spring 2019 CASC became a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE).

VikingTV debuted on 3/26/21 and over 2200 viewed live or tape-delayed as CASC Baseball defeated National Park College, 8-2!
