Bio: JD Jackson enters his first year with the Viking baseball program.
After a successful prep career playing for legendary high school coach Larry Coleman at Sallisaw High School, Jackson pitched one season at Connors State Junior College in Warner, OK ('97). Following his freshman year, he transferred to Auburn University in Alabama where he was a relief pitcher for the 1998 SEC champion Tigers. He then transferred to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA to complete his junior and senior seasons. As a starting pitcher for ODU, Jackson logged victories against top 25 nationally ranked teams and started a game in the 2000 NCAA regional in Clemson, SC. Jackson led ODU in victories as a senior.
Summer 1997: Pitched for US Bank (WA) in the Connie Mack league winning a state championship under the leadership of Tom McCabe.
Summer 1998: Won the Shenandoah Valley League championship and was a South Division All-star selection for Waynesboro Generals
Summer 2000: Pitched for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod baseball League.
Jackson completed his playing career in the Pacific International League for the Everett Merchants earning 2nd team All-PIL starting pitcher and a birth to the NBC World Series in Wichita, KS.
Coach Jackson has directly developed over 20 pitchers that have signed professionally either through free agency or the MLB draft including a 6th and 9th round draft selection.

2011: Assistant Coach at Sallisaw High School (Sallisaw, Okla.)
2012: Associate Head Coach for the Omaha Diamond Spirit of the M.I.N.K Collegiate Summer League (Omaha, NE)
2013-2015: Assistant Coach (Pitching Coach) at the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, Wash.)
2016-2017: Pitching coach at nationally ranked John A. Logan junior college in Carterville, IL. Guided Pitching staff to 9th lowest ERA in the nation. 7 of his pitchers moved on to D1 universities.
Coach Jackson is a native of Tumwater, Wa where he completed school through his freshman year. He then relocated to Oklahoma where he graduated from Sallisaw. He has 4 children Connor, Brooks, Asher and Preslee.
